Dilemmas of Difference: An Exploration of Personal and Educational Experiences Kathleen O’ Leary

Dilemmas of difference Basic dilemma-recognition & response Historical responses Interface disabled & non-disabled world Opportunity denied/opportunity offered Managing the issue Structures/systems must bend & stretch

Dilemmas of difference Am I in the box or outside? Am I on the margins or at the heart of things? Were my experiences unique or are the obstacles I encountered as a student and a teacher still present in some form? Are the expectations you have of yourself or the professionals in your life high enough? Am I willing to settle for mediocrity rather than achievement?
