is It is made of electro-magnetic radiation.

There are different colours of light because they are light waves which have different wavelengths. Red light has the longest wavelength while violet light has the shortest wavelength

Mixing them in various ways will make all other colours, including white.

Lightning Starlight Sunlight Bioluminescence Aurorae Flame Glow worm Firefly Bioluminescence Aurorae Jelly Fish Flame

Electric bulb Torch Firework Candle Traffic light Television

The law of reflection The bouncing back of light waves when they hit an object with a very smooth and shiny surface, like a mirror

The Law of Reflection

Light travels in a straight line.

Light travels in straight lines.

The speed of light is the speed at which light travels. It is about 300,000 kilometres per second. Nothing travels faster than light.

There are 3 types of objects depending on amount of light they allow to pass through them:

Transparent objects allow all the light to pass through which fall on them. Clear Water Clear Plastic Clear Glass Clear Air

Translucent objects allow only some amount of light to pass through. Wax Paper Cellophane Frosted Glass Translucent Plastic

Opaque objects do not allow light to pass through them. Wood block Books Stone Metals

Opaque objects form shadows when light falls on them, as shadow is absence of light, the opaque objects obstruct the light rays and do not allow light to pass through them, and shadows are formed.

There are 3 kinds of Shadows Dark Shadow Faint Shadow Light is blocked by transparent object Light is blocked by opaque object Lighter Shadow Light is blocked by translucent object

A shadow shows the shape of an object, but it doesn’t show colors or details (such as a smile or a frown).

You can change the shape of a shadow by moving and turning your body or the object. You can combine shadows to make different shadow shapes

You can change the size of a shadow by moving your body or the object closer to or farther from the light. (Shadows grow bigger and fuzzier as the object moves closer to the light source, and smaller and sharper as the object moves farther away.)

The sun rises in the East and sets in the West, allowing us to work out direction.

Outdoors, a shadow’s shape, size, and position change over the course of the day as the position of the sun changes.

The shadow is longer in the morning and evening. 4.00 p.m. 8.00 a.m. 12.00 a.m. The shadow is longer in the morning and evening. The shadow is shortest at the midday.
