Rube Goldberg Project! The Brink Phillip Butler, Andrew Doss, Isaac Eubanks, Anthony Kosinski

Overview Device Overview The Calculations Issues with Project Some Thoughts…

Device Overview Marble rolls down Hinge-a-tron Strike three! Stick and Click Marble (Where’d it go?) +1 Dead Mouse Mouse trap for 3!

Calculations Projectile motion (Trajectory equation) ▫(y2-y1)= tanθ(x2-x1)-(g/2v^2)(1+tan^2θ)(x2-x1)^2 Rotational Energy (ball rolling) ▫½Iω^2 Conservation of linear momentum (collisions) ▫m1v1+m2v2=(m1+m2)v’ Conservation of translational energy ▫½mv^2

Issues with project Disagreement Over Design Inconsistent Design Flawed/Broken Material

Some Thoughts… It was fun and a good exercise to combine our knowledge of physics with creativity After we overcame our disagreements, the project came together quickly

Conclusion Device Overview The Calculations Issues with Project Some Thoughts…
