Reading and Language Arts Standards Revisions to ensure a progression of rigor and relevance across the grades, to create K-8 grade-level benchmarks for clarity at each grade level, to create Grades 9-10 and Grades benchmarks for greater clarity at the high school level

How were old and new standards merged? Selected old standards and GLEs retained but reconfigured as standards or benchmarks. New standards and benchmarks added where more rigor needed and fluidity of curriculum development needed.
