FINANCIAL AID ($) and COLLEGE! 3 things you MUST do to maximize your student financial aid 1.Submit the … FAFSA or the California Dream Act application (open Jan. 1). 2.Submit your verified GPA for the Cal Grant. 3.Apply for national and local scholarships.

FAFSA - Applying for Federal Student (Financial) Aid Step 1 – Get a PIN! Step 2- Gather all the documents needed for the FAFSA Step 3 – Starting Jan. 1, fill out (FAFSA) at Driver's License Social Security # Alien registration number, if you are not a U.S. citizen 2013 income information – Parents & students Your tax and parent tax information 2013 bank statements Any records of untaxed income such as welfare benefits, Social Security benefits, or child support payments List of colleges you are interested in attending

The California Dream Act allows undocumented and documented students who meet the requirements to apply for and receive state financial aid and private scholarships administered by California public colleges and universities. STUDENTS WHO: Have attended a California high school for a minimum of 3 years Graduate from a California high school Enroll in an accredited CA college/university CAlifornia Dream Act Who is eligible? APPLY using California Student Aid Commission’s secure California Dream Act application at MORE INFO….

The following documents are helpful (not necessarily required) when completing the CAlifornia Dream Act application – W-2 forms and other 2013 records of income (if you or your parents have any) 2013 income tax returns (if you or your parents have one) Records of child support paid (if applicable) Records of student grant, scholarship and fellowship aid (if applicable) Current stock, bond, and other investment records (if applicable) Current business and farm records (if applicable) Current bank statements (if applicable)

CAL GRANT Cal Grants are funded by the State of CA Cal Grants are NOT loans… Cal Grant awards do not have to be paid back. To apply for a Cal Grant, you must complete and submit two forms: 1.the FAFSA/Free Application for Federal Student Aid or CA Dream Act application) and 2.the Cal Grant GPA Verification Form between January 1 and March 2.  We will assist you with this process after Winter Break. The following will be held at Windsor High: SAT – Spring dates May 3, 2014 June 7, 2014 ACT – Spring dates February 8, 2014 April 12, 2104 SENIORS – Check the campuses you applied to make sure your SAT & ACT test scores arrived on time.
