Adjectives

Adjective An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Example: Rona is a beautiful girl. girl= ילדה beautiful= יפה

Adjective Adjectives can tell “what kind”. color, size, shape, age or temperature. For example: This is a big elephant. Adjectives can tell “how many”. number words, few, many, some, several or none. I saw many animals.

Adjective Most adjectives can be used before a noun: This is a big elephant. We saw a lot of animals yesterday.

Adjective Adjectives can also be used after the verb be (am/is/are, was/were, will be): This elephant is big. The animals were amazing.

Comparison of Adjectives with as + adjective + as

When do we use as + adjective + as ?

Molly is as dirty as a pig. To compare people, places, events or things, when there is no difference, use as + adjective + as: FOR EXAMPLE: Molly is as dirty as a pig.

MORE EXAMPLES: Peter is 24 years old. John is 24 years old. Peter is as old as John. Moscow is as cold as St. Petersburg in the winter. Ron is as happy as Dan. Benyamin Netanyahu is as famous as Yair Lapid. A tiger is as dangerous as a lion.
