Commas in a series: Use commas to separate words phrases or clauses in a series. Commas with coordinate adjectives: Use a comma to separate two or more adjectives preceding a noun, but not after the last adjective before the noun. ( and test) Example: Running that road race was a fun, challenging experience. Mark commas in the correct place according to these rules. Put them in the Bell Ringers section of your binder. 1.
