ACCORDING TO SECTION 504 OF THE REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973 AND THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT OF 1990, NO OTHERWISE QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL WITH A DISABILITY SHALL, SOLELY BY REASON OF HIS OR HER DISABILITY, BE EXCLUDED FROM THE PARTICIPATION IN OR BE DENIED THE BENEFITS OF, OR BE SUBJECTED TO DISCRIMINATION UNDER ANY PROGRAM OR ACTIVITY OF A PUBLIC ENTITY.

 STUDENTS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENTS  FACE STUDENT WHEN SPEAKING; SPEAK CLEARLY  USE A MICROPHONE, IF AVAILABLE  VISUAL AIDS / INSTRUCTION  REPEAT QUESTIONS AND STATEMENTS FROM OTHER STUDENTS

 LEARNING DISABILITIES  PROVIDE AN AUDIO TAPE OR PODCAST OF CLASS SESSIONS  PROVIDE LECTURE OUTLINES

REALITY… UNSOLVED PROBLEMS: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY HAS NOT KEPT PACE WITH MAIN STREAM TECHNOLOGY THE CAT IS MORE ACCESSIBLE DUE TO THE LIBRARIES ADOPTING & IMPLEMENTING WEB ACCESSIBILITY POLICY DATABASES LIKE JSTOR & PROQUEST HAVE REDESIGNED THEIR SITES TO BE MORE ACCESSIBLE EVENTUALLY PUBLISHERS WILL BE MORE AGREEABLE TO PROVIDING ALTERNATIVE FORMATS THE GOVERNMENT IS LEGISLATING FOR MORE ACCESSIBILITY.
