© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 3 Who we are engaging with? Key Stake Holders:  ~400 customers i.e. carriers, brokers, software houses for customers and market participants  Cross Market Messaging Group (CMMG)  London & International Insurance Brokers' Association (LIIBA)  Association’s Administration Committee (AAC)  Xchanging also use the system internally

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 4 What are we doing?  We are swapping out the XDH (Xchanging Distribution Hub) messaging system engine (Serv-U) and replacing it with IBM’s Sterling File Gateway and Business 2 Business Integrator (SFG & B2Bi).  SFG & B2Bi enables the security-rich integration of complex business to business processes with diverse partner communities  The project is called XFG and is currently in Development where we are configuring the system to mirror the XDH processes for Customers messages.  We are placing the service on a resilient IT platform that has the capability of expansion.  IBM are overseeing the design, build & release to assure quality and best practice.  The SFG and B2Bi product is supported by IBM.

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 5 Why are we doing it?  XDH (Xchanging Distribution Hub) is the inflow of messaging from the Market and Xchanging’s outflow of messaging to the Market. 1.5 million inbound and 1.9 million outbound messages processed per year with only 5-10% of files encrypted.  Some of the XDH components are out of support and some of the infrastructure is out of warranty and not scalable:  The WebSphere Transformation Extender (WTX ) in XDH is close to maximum capacity during peak flow – additional services added to XDH will take WTX beyond the capacity. Scalability is not an option.  The application that picks up and sends messages for the Market is called Serv-U and is on extended support and operating on old hardware.  The administration functions use.Net and IIS. These legacy software are unsupported and we have limited skills to support it.

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 6 The Project  The XFG project has been initiated under the Platform Refresh Programme (PRP) directed by Tony James.  The project went to the market and selected the IBM SFG & B2Bi product to replace Serv-U.  SFG will directly replace Serv-U and integrates with WTX, which is another IBM product. This will reduce the WTX capacity issue.  IBM are working closely with the project to assure the design, build and release.

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 8 How do we ensure it will work?  Testing will be carried out during each of the lower environments  Unit testing in development  Comparison testing against XDH  Performance and capacity testing  System and user acceptance testing  MAT in TSC & TRN environment with selected customers  Security testing (Pen test)  Commission testing during the “go live” weekend Nov  We will look for a selection of Customers to send test files during MAT in the TSC & TRN environment  This will ensure that customer IP & password changes are working

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 9 How do we ensure it will work cont’d  Full testing will occur in the lower environments using the current XDH regression packs.  Comparison testing – we will run a test pack through the old XDH and capture the output. Run the same test pack through SFG B2Bi and compare the SFG B2Bi output with the XDH output.  NOTE - All the legacy systems connected to SFG B2Bi are not changed XDH SFG B2Bi Test Pack Test Output Compared Test Pack

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 10 How will we go Live?  When the system goes live we will switch all users over during the “Go Live” weekend.  If the commission testing fails we will work to fix it and if necessary switch back to XDH and issue a communication.

© 2015 Xchanging plc XFG ENGAGEMENT PLAN 11 The impact on the Customer  No functional changes. Users will not see anything different and will not require training. The system will use the same logic and processing.  Customers using an IP address will be provided with a DNS name.  Customers using SFTP will need to inform us of their password.  Customers using VPN will need to change either the DNS or IP name.  Customers using FTP will need to inform us of their password
