FACING THE FORMIDABLE I Samuel 17

1.The encounter between David and Goliath took place as part of a war between the Israelites and the Amalekites. FALSE (Philistines)

3. All of David’s brothers were soldiers in the Israelite army while David stayed home to tend sheep. FALSE (He had 7 brothers, only the three oldest were in the army.)

4. Goliath had challenged the Israelites for 40 days before David showed up on the scene. TRUE

5. David’s father had sent him to take bread to his brothers, and bread & cheese to their commanding officer. TRUE
