© 2015 albert-learning.com Avatar About Movie :  It was made by Lightstorm Entertainment and released by 20th Century Fox on December 18,  “Avatar”, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery as he leads an epic battle to save a civilization.  “Avatar" delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.  The film was first released in traditional 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters.

So far, it has been nominated for 4 Golden Globes, 2 of which it won: Best Director and Best Motion Picture (Drama).  The film was rated PG-13 by the MPAA for intense epic battle sequences and warfare, sensuality, language and moderate tobacco usage.  The movie has grossed over $2 billion worldwide, the first movie to ever do so. On January 25, 2010, Avatar surpassed Titanic as the highest grossing film of all time, worldwide.
