2005 NHDR on Gender Attitudes ________________ Overarching goal: Promote gender equality through conducting a survey on gender attitudes, and launching 2005 NHDR

2005 NHDR on Gender Attitudes ________________ Challenges to address: - Gender disparities in a number of important socio-economic areas (e.g. employment, education and representation in decision-making processes, mortality rate & crime rates, etc. ) - Gaps in gender information, particularly on sensitive social issues (e.g. domestic violence, drugs and HIV/AIDS, etc.)

2005 NHDR on Gender Attitudes ________________ First national survey on gender attitudes aims to: Raise awareness of gender Improve understanding of gender attitudes Build national capacity in conducting gender surveys Formulate recommendations on promoting gender equality Promote surveys on gender attitudes in CIS

2005 NHDR on Gender Attitudes ________________ The expected outputs will be achieved through: Preparatory workshop on methodology National survey on gender attitudes National workshop to analyse the results of the survey NHDR in three languages (English, Azeri, and Russian) National debate through Town Hall Meetings, media forums, parliamentary rounds, etc.
