Air Dawg brought to you by Luke, Logan, and Brian
Why is Air Quality Important ● Certain particles can be inhaled ● Causes severe health problems ● Important that we be aware
What is PM 2.5? ● 30 times smaller than a human hair ● Fine particles that are inhaled ● Travel deep into the lungs and cause health problems
The Question ● Is the air quality in the Bulldog Saloon better in the attic or basement?
Background Information ● The Bulldog Saloon is a friendly neighborhood eatery.
Reason of Interest Brian- Was wondering if it was safe to breathe in the air from the establishment in which he works in. Luke- Also works their and was wondering as well. Logan- Occasionally finds himself in the vicinity.
Hypothesis ● We predicted that the upstairs would have higher PM 2.5 levels due to dustier conditions.
Upstairs
Upstairs Graph ● Spikes ● Still not harmful ● Not consistent
Downstairs
Downstairs Graph ● Far under deadly ● A few spikes ● Very good
Analysis ● The data was very similar ● The downstairs had better quality than the upstairs ● The upstairs had better air quality than expected
Conclusion ● Our hypothesis was correct, but the upstairs had better air quality than we anticipated.
Tests for the future ● Monitored movement around the meters ● Run the test multiple times ● Tested in the kitchen by the fryer ● Weekend vs. weekday
Special Thanks to ● Mr. Spangler ● The May Family ● The Bulldog Saloon
