Academic Program Changes Programs closed are about 20% of all programs, but accounted last year for less than 2% of completions. Approximately 20 of the closed programs had no completions last year. Closing a program does not mean eliminating all coursework or closing a department. In many cases where programs are closing, there are programs remaining that meet most student need and interest. Related budget/financial issues Common misperception #1: Net assets have grown and we have no budget issue. Common misperception #2: Auxiliaries run up deficits that the general fund makes up.
