Training at UTSA Individual and group throughout the year. Varies in time and technical depth depending on the testing program. Training takes place at lunch times, after work hours, at times and places convenient to both parties to enhance learning.

Training at UTSA Main Elements of Training Professional demeanor, appropriate dress and demonstration of respect for all examinees. Communication with the Test Supervisor and Testing Company. Test Security as highest priority. Commitment to the testing event and students. Attention to timing instructions and all other pertinent testing directions. (Standardization) Handling emergencies and irregularities

Full Time StaffPart- Time StaffContract Staff Full access, passwordsLimited access with close supervision No access except for test day. High accountabilityLower accountabilityEvent day accountability High current knowledge base Limited current knowledge, interaction based Knowledge needs to be updated prior to test day after a select base is established.

Practical Logistics for all Staff Training on the campus layout to include: Permitted parking areas for students, staff, visitors. Restrooms near testing rooms Waiting areas for parents of test takers Emergency procedures on campus.

Internet Based versus Paper Based IBT testing training requires simulations with hardware and software. Manuals with screen shots which demonstrate step by step instructions for critical process points is key for confidence of part-time and full time staff. Website references in a easily accessible manual for staff.

Computer Based Training Should include mock-ups or practice exams with the hardware and delivery system for best results. May include test company exam for staff and issuance of personalized passwords. May also include network log-on information which is subject to change.

Paper-based exam Training Emphasis on reading the testing manual completely to understand all roles and instructions. Training goes over processing points, check-in, monitoring, break, dismissal as a starting point. ID standards can change from exam to exam so going over exact directions for current exam is important.

It’s a Partnership! We try to emphasize to staff that we are there to back them up in the room but they need to know and follow the instructions they have been given. We all want the best outcome for our students, let’s be aware of the atmosphere we are creating for our examinees.
