What is a Target Market? A target market is a group of customers that the business has decided to aim its marketing efforts at and ultimately its merchandise towards. A well-defined target market is the first element to a marketing strategy.business marketing merchandise marketing strategy

What is a Target Market? The target market and the marketing mix of product, place (distribution), promotion and price are the four elements of a marketing mix strategy that determine the success of a product in the marketplace.productplacedistribution promotionpricemarketing mixmarketplace

What is a…Target Audience? a specific group of people within the target market at which a product or the marketing message of a product is aimed at.target marketproduct

Target Market vs. Target Audience Discovering the appropriate target market(s)and determining the target audience is one of the most important activities in marketing. The biggest mistake it's possible to make in targeting is trying to reach everybody and ending up appealing to no one.

What is…Geographic market? Geographic market = addresses or where is it? Geographic (location / climate / region)

What is…Demographic? demographic/socioeconomic market = demographicsocioeconomic (gender, age, income, occupation, education)

What is…Psychographic market? psychographic market = psychographic (similar attitudes, values, and lifestyles)

Engage Your Audience Tell a Story Discovering the appropriate target market(s)and determining the target audience is one of the most important activities in marketing.

Engage Your Audience Personalize the Message In order for your audience to feel involved, they must see how the information relates to them specifically. When you’re explaining a new product, engage someone in the audience and state how this information could affect him or her in a positive way.

Engage Your Audience Use Benefit Statements As you explain a new product, always state why this information is important to the audience and how it will help them. Don’t just state the benefit once. Instead, include a benefit statement at the end of every key point.
