Early Life One woman who made a difference was Amelia Earhart. Amelia was born on July 24,1897. She was born in Atchison, Kansas She was the first of two children.
Adult Life Amelia Earhart married George Putman in They never had children. She attended nursing school after high school. She was also a pilot.
Major Accomplishments She was the first woman to fly a plane across the Atlantic Ocean. She proved women could do daring things. Amelia received a medal from President Herbert Hoover. What does this mean to me? It means women can do daring and remarkable things!
Later Life In 1937, Amelia Earhart tried to fly her plane around the world, but something terrible happened. She and her plane disappeared. She was never found.
