City Ways Glasgow’s City Ways are those routes that radiate to/from the City Centre. A network of high quality cycle corridors on key routes. These key cycle routes have business, cultural, educational and residential destinations along and in close proximity to them. They are characterised by constructed features such as segregated cycle lanes and link into the wider cycle network to provide greater cycle access to all aspects of our city.

South West City Way This is a 2-way segregated cycle route linking the city centre and Pollokshields. In certain areas shared surfaces have been introduced. These are areas such as the Tradeston Bridge and sections such as at Scotland Street Museum. Innovative features have been introduced including; cycle detection (with cycle counting capabilities), route specific branding

Diagonal Junction The South- West City Way route incorporates a cycle only diagonal crossing with its own phase separate from the traffic. This diagonal cycling crossing allows cyclists to cross in one movement, minimising delays.

Floating Bus Stops Bus stop by-passes provide an island refuge for pedestrians to wait for the bus and for passengers to depart from buses without generating conflict with cycle lane users. The by-passes are raised to the same level as the footway. This creates a raised table to make cyclists aware of change in surface priority and to promote as safer environment for all users.
