The students will explain the impact of the war on the Home front by comparing the similarities and differences between the warring nations. Announcement: There were be a bi-weekly World History Review Session in Mr. Gregg’s Room. The Chapter 19 test will be Friday, April 8 Warm-up: Examine the posters on page 645: 1. How are the two posters similar? 2. Why do you think American and Soviet posters encouraged women to work in war-related jobs? Mini-Lesson: Explain mobilization, kamikaze, blitz

The Mobilization of 4 Nations Soviet Union War called, “The Great Patriotic War” Stalingrad under siege for 900 days People starved entire factories moved to interior regions shortages in food and housing Women worked in industries, mines, railroads increased 60 % fought in battle-snipers/air-crews of bomber squadrons
