Some Companies who succeeded: SME IOW Sector – tidal turbine platform Need – establish an innovative tidal platform tethered to the sea bed by a patented series of ropes that enable quick maintenance and can be raised or lowered to hit the sweet spot in the tidal flow. Cost – £1,300,000 Grant - £100,000 Created up to 15 new jobs
Some Companies who succeeded: GPS Sector – Oil spillage control Need – Development and manufacture of a new and highly efficient small oil recovery vessel, together with associated new equipment to fill a gap in the market Cost £600,000 Grant £100,000 Job – creation – could be up to 20
Some Companies who succeeded: Redlux Sector – Ultra precision engineering – non contact measurement Need – Improve quality control in components for wind turbines – mainly bearings which can be expensive to replace.
