Master ASL Unit Two “Directionality” American Sign Language I Lamar High School Mrs. Stokes

What is directionality? The meaning of some signs in ASL can change, based on the way some signs are moved. This feature of ASL is called directionality. Hint: If you want to sign something being done to, for, or with you, then the sign tends to be directional.

The directional verb “HELP” HELP~ME HELP~YOU HELP~US HELP~HER/HIM HELP~THEM Note: You don’t need to add the sign for the pronouns above-they are included in the sign!
