Web-Based Course Management Systems By Rebekah Thompson

Are you bogged down with paperwork?

Are your file cabinets jammed with student portfolios, rubrics, leveled lessons, and make up work?

Are you overwhelmed at the amount of papers you have to grade each day?

Do you have students that are frustrated, over achievers, or absent often due to illness?

Web-based course/learning management systems such as Moodle and Rcampus help teachers and students stay organized and relieve some of the day to day frustrations.

Teachers can create courses and upload lessons

One of the main benefits of web-based learning systems is they offer anytime, anywhere learning, tutoring, and collaboration This aids the frustrated learner The over-achiever- and The one who is absent

Student and teacher portfolios are organized and the amount of paper is drastically reduced-so is the clutter!  Organizationa l tools are also available to keep students on track of when assignments are due

Teachers can build their own rubrics or use rubrics made by other teachers  This makes assessment easier- it can be done on- line reducing the amount of paper clutter
