Mission Statement The Habitat for Humanity Club works to meet compelling community needs by encouraging teen civic engagement. With local service agencies, corporations and civic- minded individuals as our partners, we link volunteers with meaningful service projects to improve and enhance our communities.

Love and Courage "I have the audacity to believe that people everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits." -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Vision If you’re not sure where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else. A clear, unified vision is essential. “Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood.” -Daniel Burnham

Planning “Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

Hard Work and Action ● The difficult we do immediately. The impossible takes a little longer. ● Remember: Amateurs built the ark, professionals built the titanic.

Teamwork z Never doubt that a small group of committed individuals can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

Overcoming Obstacles I ● Success is not never failing, but in rising every time we fall. ● Many people have given up without realizing how close they were to success.

Overcoming Obstacles II ●“Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold your head high, look it squarely in the eye and say: I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.” - Ann Landers

Enthusiasm “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Excellence “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Youth "The future of this movement lies with the young people." -Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity

Where Do We Go From Here? ● We must DECIDE on a clear VISION. ● We must set GOALS. ● Many people do not realize the power of setting a goal. ● Our goals must be something each officer wants to work toward achieving.

How to Set Goals and Achieve Them - Part I ● Brainstorm ● Discuss ● Choose ● Make sure our goals are consistent with our mission statement. ●“The main thing is to make sure the main thing is the main thing.”

How to Set Goals and Achieve Them - Part II Good goals are: ●Written down ● Specific ● Measurable ● Worth Achieving “Just as you cannot travel to a destination you do not have, you cannot reach a goal you do not set.”
