The ERP system deals with the planning and use of resources used in the business. The resources are FINANCE, MATERIALS, MANUFACTURING CAPACITY & HUMAN RESOURCE. It also helps to execute the strategies, plan, decisions &actions in a time bound manner.

 SECURITY:- It provides access & updating rights to the users as per the control requirement of the management.  Authorization: - it is a feature provided for ensuring that the transaction is completed with regards to the business rules set by the management.  Referencing: - this feature does not allow the transaction to proceed unless references are established.  Responsibility: -the ERP provides such facilities to ensure that the business is operated on the rules and the guidelines set by the management.

 better management of resources reducing the cost of operations.  Intelligent ERP download the decision making at lower level, releasing the burden on the middle management.  Since, the ERP design is proactive,it make the management alert at a number of points demanding the decision or action.  The ERP scope can be enlarged through the internet/intranet access, making the ERP sensitive to the latest events in the business, market & technology.

 INSTALLATION:- A successful installation is no guarantee that the ERP system will achieve company goals over a sustained period of time.  CONFIGURATION:- At this point, the organization can change what they do, which is called reengineering to best practices.  CUSTOMIZATION:- the ERP software will be customized to support a business process that may be unique or provide them with a competitive advantage.  TESTING:- testing confirms that the software behaves as expected and customer expectations are met.

 CHANGE MANAGEMENT:- it is the body of knowledge that has evolved to address change with in the context of an organization.  TRAINING:- money spent training is the best investment a company can make to ensure a smooth cutover.

Conclusion:- ERP is a package encompassing all major functions of the business.
