ABOUT MY TREE PROJECT My tree project is a project about a tree in my front garden This project contains facts records and pictures I hope you enjoy my project

Day 1 Friday, 09 October 2015  Today I visited my tree  There was a few leaves on the ground but they were not brown.  I visited my tree at 6:50pm  I found a worm and 5 ants  It had lost a bit of bark Does my tree grow any seeds or flowers This is a picture of my tree

QUESTION  Question  Does my tree grow any seeds or flowers  Answer  Yes people call them helicopters. You can flick them and they whirl to the ground

INFO AND INFECTED TREES Infected trees some times have to be cut down or they will wilt Once it is cut down you can count the rings on the stump and this will tell you how old it is Facts Sycamore trees are very common in Ireland They grow very fast

THE SEASONS  In Autumn the leaves on the sycamore tree turn red,yellow, orange and brown and begin to fall off. This is because there is less sunlight in Autumn.  In Winter there are no leaves on the tree  In Spring time the buds start to grow on the tree and leaves start to grow again  By summer time the tree is full of green leaves

DAY 2 Friday, 16 October 2015  Today I found that my tree had lost more leaves some yellow some green and some brown and orange but no red  I found a beetle  I also spotted a few spider eggs under a piece of bark  I visited my tree at 5:43 pm This is a picture of the leaves I found at the bottom of the tree

DAY 3 Friday, 23 October 2015  Today when I visited my tree more leaves had fallen off  Some of the leaves on my tree are starting to turn orange  I visited my tree at 4:35  This time when I visited my tree I could not find any insects

FUN FACTS  Apolla 14 brought sycamore seeds to space with them.  The sycamore tree can live up to 400 years  It came to Ireland about 400 years ago  The sycamore leaf has around 7 pieces  The seeds are sometimes called helicopters  The latin name for sycamore is Acer pseudoplatanus

DAY 4 Thursday, 29 October 2015  Today when I visited my tree it had lost lots more leaves  The leaves on the ground were yellow and brown  There was no green leaves on the tree there was only orange, yellow and brown I couldn’t see any bugs  I visited my tree at 1:30  orange yellow brown The colour of the leaves

WHAT MY TREE NEEDS TO LIVE  My tree needs ………...  Sunlight  Water  A good environment  Soil

DAY 5 Wednesday, 04 November 2015  Today is my final day of record  When I visited my tree there were barely any leaves on the tree  The very few leaves on the tree are brown  The picture on the right is my tree on the last day  I spotted a few more spider eggs  I estimate my tree is 6 meters tall The picture of my tree on the last day
