1.4 Equally Likely Outcomes. The outcomes of a sample space are called equally likely if all of them have the same chance of occurrence. It is very difficult.

Sounds Like a Game?????

This sack contains many colorful marbles: There are 30 Marbles Total: 6 Blue Ones 3 Purple Ones 5 Red Ones 3 Orange Ones 5 Green Ones 3 Pink Ones 4 Yellow One 1 Special Silver one

 Each Student will be able to pick out 3 different Marbles…  What are the CHANCES that it will be: RED BLUE GREEN ORANGE PURPLE YELLOW PINK

BLUERedOrangeGreenYellowPinkPurpleSILVER Predict the amount of times each color will be chosen, and in the second row write the actual amount of times that color was selected.

 Before learning the definition of Probability we will do one more experiment.  Each Student will receive a coin. Each student will flip the coin ten times and mark down how many times it lands on heads and how many times it lands on tails.

HeadsTails What is the Probability of the coin landing on Heads. What is the Probability of landing on Tails.

 How often an occurrence takes place.  It is the percentage or ratio of how often or how likely something will come up.
