Term 1 Overview

Weekly Timetable

Home Learning Home Learning tasks will be given out on a Thursday and are to be handed back in the following Tuesday The children may in addition be given project tasks. These are aimed to be more interactive and give the children some choice and freedom in their learning. Additional activity sheets can be found in the cloakroom area outside 5K alongside additional letters and communications to parents.

Home Learning Every child should read every day and have their learning log signed. We will collect learning logs every Friday

Spellings The children will have spelling logs with word processed spellings in. These will be given out on Monday for a test on Friday. The children will also keep a record of individual spellings, that they are spelling incorrectly, in their learning logs. Please encourage your child to learn all their spellings.

Big Write At the end of each unit in literacy, children will complete an independent writing task. This piece of writing will be an assessed piece. During this session, we have music, biscuits, squash and a calm atmosphere while children complete their writing.

PE/Games PE kits must be in school all week although our designated PE days are Monday and Wednesday All jewellery and earrings must be removed, any child unable to remove earrings will not be able to take part and will need to complete a lesson observation and evaluation form

Class Assemblies We would like to share some of the work that we have been doing in class through class assemblies. These will be on the following dates: 5K – Thursday 26 th September 9am 5V – Thursday 12 th November 9am

General Information All children must remain on the playground until the whistle is blown. Please inform us in writing if you give permission for your child to walk home alone.
