Resistance of a wire

The circuit A V

Zero Calibration Zero error calibration. Turn on the meter with nothing connected to it. Note the reading on the meter. If the reading is positive this must be taken away from any readings that meter records. If the reading is negative this must be added to any readings that meter records.

Circuit Calibration Connect the known resistance into the circuit at the point shown. Take a reading on the voltmeter and ammeter Calculate the resistance using V=IR Take the value of the known resistance from the reading you calculated This is the resistance of the component parts of the circuit that must be taken away from any values of resistance calculated.
