What is ? is short for electronic mail. is a method for sending messages electronically from one computer to another.

How does work? begins on a computer that is connected to the Internet When you access your account (through the Internet), you are able to send and receive messages. The message is sent over telephone wires or a cable to a server.

How does work? The server acts like a post office and sorts the message and sends it out on the Internet. Based on the address, the is sent to the correct address. The stays on the server until the recipient “picks up” their from their account or “mailbox.”

The fraudulent usually contains an urgent message that tries to lure the recipient into providing sensitive information.

Be Cautious! Do not respond to s asking for any personal or financial information. Legitimate companies will never ask you to verify or provide any confidential information in an unsolicited .
