Vision & Mission Vision: Awareness about the Flora & Fauna around us (ie, the students), How to preserve and Conserve the habitat Create group of individuals who will be ambassadors of Nature conservation To create a society who will care with Love for the bio-diversity around them and protect it

Mission: Create awareness in the educational institutions, Corporates, Residential localities by having continuous engagement Give opportunities to interested,selfless volunteers to pursue more in the field of conservation Bring like minded individuals and Institutions to common platform for conservation activities Cause centric movement

RK Mission Shivanahalli Working in BNP for last 20+ years Converted more than 300 acres into pristine forest through ‘Project Kaanana’ Working closely with more than 16 villages Have given LPG to more than 90% of population Runs SHG in 16 villages Working to create a Knowledge park for future generation A platform used by institutions like KFD, IISC, Corporates and Interested individuals

Activities: Awareness activities in schools around BNP Schools chosen within 3 Km buffer from BNP Have continuous engagement for one year Engagement atleast twice every month Create eco-club in the school Make team work on bio-diversity project Create young scientists from the schools

Action Plan: Schools to be identified around BNP Both Kannada Medium and English Medium schools Initial engagement of 1.3 hours to all the students in the school Eco club to be formed in the school with interested students and teachers The students to be further engaged through movies, Field visits, Nature walks, Cleaning activities etc

Contd… Engage with the school for at least twice a month on weekends and other free days Conducting summer camps in April, May 2015 Run ‘Bannerghatta Young Ecologist program in selected schools Self assessment to be done every 6 months Final assessment at the end of academic year

For Volunteers An opportunity to be part of a great movement An opportunity to interact and work with different people and institutions Certificate for those who devote a minimum of 15 days in a year for the purpose Understand BNP, become its ambassador in the schools, places of work etc

For students An opportunity to learn about the bio-diversity around them and appreciate the same Get guidance to pursue in the field of science Certificate of appreciation from KFD,IISC and RKM An opportunity for bigger exposure interacting with volunteers from different walks of life

Anti-Fire depredation Minimum of 3 days Volunteers will be accommodated in Watch towers along with Forest watchers Volunteers will be trained by KFD Time frame – Feb, March, April

Volunteer engagements Volunteers can join the program at any point of time. They will be oriented and connected to schools Volunteer interaction every month Minimum commitment of one year Free to innovate and engage students

Program engagements Meeting of volunteers every month A team to monitor the progress of project Each team to update about the progress in their school and share experiences Regular updation to the Forest department Try to have some renowned conservationist to address the group every month

Other engagements planned SHG for the Forest watchers Medical camps for Forest watchers Corporate support for Forest watchers Trainings for Forest Field staff etc
