Page 36 of 38 Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Function Introduction Lenovo OneKey Recovery is an easy-to-use application used to back up the data on a system partition (C drive) and then quickly restore it if required. In Windows, you can: 1. Create a backup of an entire system partition, saving it to your local hard drive. 2. Back up your data to a CD, DVD or other removable disk. 3.Create Windows recovery discs to boot and restore your system if required. If you need to restore your system, you can: 1.Select “System Recovery” within Windows. The system will reboot and enter the OneKey Recovery screen. 2.Press the OneKey Rescue System button to activate Lenovo OneKey Rescue System when your PC is turned off. Within the program, you can restore your system partition to: 1.original factory status 2.previously generated backup.

Page 37 of 38 Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Perform a System backup A system backup backs up your system partition to a folder on the hard drive, so that you can restore it in the future, if required. The program will save the backed up data to the default location D:\Lenovo\OneKey App\OneKey Recovery You may also select another backup location, such as on a removable storage device. We suggest that you do the following before you create recovery discs: Use the latest version of your system's anti-virus software to scan your computer and make sure it is virus-free. Optimize your system, including scanning and defragmenting your hard drive.

Page 40 of 38 Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Create Recovery Disc You can create 3 different types of recovery discs. The recovery discs are used to boot up your computer automatically and restore your system back to a previously backed up status: Recovery disc with current system Burns current Windows system data directly to a CD/DVD disc. Recovery disc with existing backup image Burns the system image file to a CD/DVD disc. Factory default recovery disc Burns the content on the hidden partition to a CD/DVD disc. If your hard drive ever fails and you are unable to use OneKey Recovery, you can use the Recovery Discs to restore your hard drive to the factory default.

Page 43 of 38 Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential Lenovo Confidential CYBERLINK CONFIDENTIAL Using recovery discs When you replace a hard drive on your computer, you are unable to use the pre- installed Lenovo OneKey Rescue System. However, you can use the recovery discs that contain your backed up data to restore your new hard drive to a previously backed up state. You can also use the "Factory default recovery discs" to restore a new hard drive to your computer's initial state. When you use the recovery discs to boot your computer, the system will enter the system recovery user interface automatically. Please follow the prompts to insert the backup discs in order to complete the entire recovery process. Note: This will delete all the data on the current hard drive, which is not recoverable. Make sure to back up your critical data before using Recovery Discs.

Note: The process above removes all data on the current system partition (C partition), which is not recoverable. Please back up all important data before restoring to a previous backup.
