Lesson 23 Famous Zoos 授课人 : 郭新志

Zoos are old!  One of the first zoos was in Egypt, about years ago.This zoo kept monkeys and giraffes in small cages. Only kings,queens and important people went to this zoo. No other people could go.

Egypt is a country in Africa. Egypt is famous for its pyramids. p y r a m i d s i n E g y p t

What about China’s zoos?  China built its first zoo about years ago. People went to the zoo to learn about animals.

Animals in the wedding clothes?Yes!

Two bears are getting married.

Eight hundred years ago, a king kept many wild animals in the zoo. He lived in Italy.When he got married, he took elephents, camels, lions, and monkeys to his wedding. He gave them beautiful wedding clothes!

New cages – no bars! One hundred years ago,a new kind of zoo opened in Germany. It kept animals in big cages.The cages had no bars.This zoo gave other zoos a good idea.This idea has given zoo animals a better life.
