How can KMC & High Technology Care be Compatible? Try to convince all professionals in your NICU of the positive effects of the KMC method, even in high technology NICU environment Reach an interdisciplinary agreement about practical, evidence based guidelines that ensure safe & consistent care

Regarding KMC; Tell the Mother  You are the best person to initiate & continue with individualized care, reciprocal care in NICU  The first step in the process reciprocity is understanding your baby’s messages Trying to eliminate as fully as possible any activity that produce distress  The second step is to shape the environment within NICU Least disruptive The most comforting to your infant; even in your absence
