2 Participates will be provide information and materials to help individuals to: Understand Disasters Create A Personal Support Network Complete A Personal Assessment Make Personal Disaster Preparation Identify needed Disaster Supplies Make your Home or Office Safer Project Goals

3 Workshops and Presentations Workshops: Are from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours provide participants the opportunity to assemble their own Go Bag or Comfort Bag Presentations: Are from 10 to 15 minutes and provide limited information on Disaster Preparedness and resources along with a basic already assembled Go Bag.

10 Caregivers Bags and Cooler Bags to Keep Medications on Ice

11 Be Responsible. Be Ready. Put a Kit together. Put a Go-Kit together Buy a battery-powered radio and extra batteries. Have a plan and hold a family meeting. Pick a meeting place Arrange for an out-of-town connection. Print Important Information Cards for all family members. Know how to shut off water, gas, electricity and any other utilities in your home.

12 How Can You Help Make this Service- Learning Project a Success Make Disaster Preparedness a priority in your life and in the lives for your loved ones. Add to your Disaster Supply Kits a little at a time. Put together a Personal Disaster Plan for you and your family members. Don’t forget your pets. Support Disaster Preparedness activities in your local area.

13 Volunteer We need volunteers to help in the assembly and delivery of Comfort Bag. If your group would like to help the time commitment is about two hours to assembly the Comfort Bags. Delivery time commitment and resources ( gas and use of vehicle) may vary based on numbers of volunteers.
