Goal Setting for Teenagers Chapter 3

What are goals? Almost anything that you desire can be a goal. Goals serve as a guide for what you do and give you something to work toward. Personal goals help you do your best and achieve the things you want in life.

What is goal setting? Goal setting is a process that can help you improve yourself and feel good about yourself. It is a method of getting people motivated about their own self-improvement and lifestyles.

Long-Term Goals Goals that take a long time to reach. Examples: Graduate college Get a job Earn straight As this year

Short-Term Goals Short-term goals are goals which can be established to help you either achieve a long-term goal, or help you accomplish something in a short period of time. Short-term goals may be reached quickly, perhaps in a few days or weeks. Short-term goals are very specific. Examples: Studying hard to receive a good grade on the next chapter test, or earning enough money to go to this weekend’s concert.
