Current Issues  CSCSC Transition Planning Committee – The TPC continues its work, focusing on three major areas of activity: continued due diligence regarding all operational, legal and governance issues around transition of the Council from its current legal status as a not-for-profit corporation under the Canada Corporations Act; the development of a three-year business plan, including budget projections for fiscal years through inclusive; and continued deliberations with SCL regarding strategic and operational fit. This work is both strategic and tactical, and has been both inspiring and, at times, tedious. During both the exciting and more mundane times, all participants have been thoughtful and respectful of the need to consider all impacts of our work going forward. As ED of the Council, I would like to publicly thank all members of the transition planning team for the considerable time, effort and energy that each of you have contributed over the last three months as we have been planning for the transition. I would also like to thank the board, executive and staff of SCL for their leadership in stepping up to the plate to offer an alternative to closure of the Council. Our initial work is nearing completion, with further details under development for presentation at the March 22 nd meeting of the Council’s board. For further details on the meeting, please call the office.  HR Study Report Launch – The Council will release the final report of our HR study on March 22 nd, following the board meeting. This report showcases major issues facing the sector, identifies significant changes in our labour market since the 2005 study, and provides some indication of projections by occupational group. The full report, including executive summary, will be available at the launch and on the Council website. Because a major feature of the report is the need for greater connections with high schools, we will be holding the launch event (and the board meeting) at Lakeshore Collegiate (Kipling Avenue and Lakeshore Road) in Toronto. Lakeshore had been a partner of the Council for the last three years, and has graciously offered to host us for the launch event. Students and faculty from the school, will be joining us.
