Visions and Relationships

Creating a Vision Vivid Challenging Service Directed Expandable Compelling

Vision Development 1. What do I care about and want to focus on? 2. What would the future look like?

Visions “Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge.”- Jimbo Wales “I want to put a bar of soap in the hand of every child who can’t afford it.”-Derreck Kayongo “Every child has a right to health and love”-Sam Kerce

Key Club Core Values The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness. Mission Statement Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.

People Power Relationship Web – Stakeholders – Collaborators – Teams – Connectors – Mavens

Creating Your Vision What is your vision for Key Club? – What are you passionate about? – What do you want to create? “Imagine a community were every adult practices service to others”

Vision to Reality Stretch Goals – Big and Bold – Unsure how this will be achieved – Seems almost impossible “Have every Kiwanian participate in meaningful service” “Increase each club membership by 10%”

Vision to Reality Manageable Goals – More Realistic in nature – Lead to predictable success and small wins – Define action plans – Engage individuals “Invite 3 different people to my next meeting” “Have a joint project with Key Club” “Call 3 past members and invite them back”

Manageable to SMART Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Timely “I will call three past members by June 30 th and invite them to a meeting” Stretch Goals and Manageable Goals intertwine to move your vision forward in producing results
