West Africa  Tropical rainforests, savanna grassland  Fished, cattle herding and agriculture  Heavily influenced by Islamic culture  Africans exchanged ivory, gold and slaves for salt, dates, silk and cotton  Grew RICE  Polytheistic-developed rituals for good harvests
