DICOM Activities of MISAT in Taiwan Jenn-Lung Su, Ph.D. Medical Information Standards Association of Taiwan (MISAT) Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, CYCU Baltimore, 9/24/2003

Activities of MISAT Medical Image Standards Association of Taiwan (MISAT) was established on 03/15/2003 and joint DICOM SC as user member on 04/03/2003. MISAT: 30+ individual members and 10+ group members. Continue to p romote more members to joint MISAT. 2 major projects is running.

Activities of MISAT (Project A) A1. Setup a webpage to report the activity of DICOM. A2. Host the Spring meeting of DICOM standard committee and attend the Fall meeting of DICOM SC. A3. Held DICOM workshops on 04/02/2003 and 09/05/2003. Planning another 2 workshops on 10/03/2003 and 11/09/2003.

Activities of MISAT (Project B) B1. Joint CSIST and HL7-Taiwan to promote IHE-Taiwan and Made first demo in HL7 conference on 08/24. B2. Proposed UID coding rule, minimum requirements of DICOM Tags for information exchange among hospitals in Taiwan. B3. Help BSMI (Bureau of Standard, Metrology and Inspection, Taiwan) to Implement DICOM standards into CNS. B4. Edit and publish DICOM related training lectures.

Proposed Work Items Hold more conference and workshop activity of DICOM. Promote the activity of IHE-Taiwan year 2 and IHE-Asian. Test the information (image) exchange among different level hospitals (medical center, regional hospital, and clinics). Provide software for the DICOM product evaluation.
