IMMUNISATION OF AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN Alex and Eramae

Defining the problem Research from the National Health Performance Authority has found 77,000 Australian children are not fully immunised. Vaccination is known to be one of the most successful methods to prevent the spread of diseases. It has saved millions of lives around the world and led to the control of many infections. Because of immunisation, the risks of getting smallpox as well as many other infections continues to decrease. However, recent reports show a decline in immunisation rates in some areas of Australia as parents are now choosing to not have their children immunised.

Designing a Solution Although parents may refuse to have their children immunised, I believe an apporpriate solution for this issue is to make the immunisation of children complusory all throughout schools. The Austraian Governement should impliment a new policy in which children across all schools must be vaccinated to prevent diseases, because in the big picture, it does not matter if a parents does not support the idea of their child being immunised as it is for the greater good of others. If a child was to not be immunised, and a disease was to spread, the fault would go to the parent for not getting their child vaccinated. In order to keep the spread of infections and diseases to a munijum, it is appropriate for all children to be immunised. As well as this, the giverment and health organisations of Australia should create campains to
