Post ACCOR until LS2: End of Life for CMW products CO3 meeting, 25th June 2015 Wojciech Sliwinski for the BE-CO Middleware team

CMW infrastructure today RDA3 server (FESA3, FGCD, C 2 MON,...) RDA2 server (FESA2, GM, WinCCOA, PM...) RDA3 client (InCA, SIS, Logging, CO Apps, Expert Apps, GUIs,...) RDA2 client (WinCCOA, FESA2, PM, CTF, orphan Apps,...) RDA2->RDA3 Proxy CMW Directory Service CCDB RDA3 RDA2 RDA3 RDA2 CMW-DIR RDA2->RDA2 Proxy RDA2 Very complex because of RDA2 ! 2W. Sliwinski - CO3 - 25th June 2015

RDA operational usage today 3 RDA servers RDA clients Snaphost from 10th June’15 (before TS) Based on running RDA servers Only clients connected to RDA servers On server-side: In RDA3 already many core systems: BI (BPM, BCTF, OFSU), BT, Collimation, EPC (FGCD, Pow*), RF (some ALL*) CO (LTIM, OASIS, CO Generic classes) In RDA2 still: BI (e.g. BLM), RF (many ALL*), WinCCOA (PVSS), PM, + others On client-side: In RDA3: All core CO services & CO applications (InCA, SIS, Logging) Some Expert applications In RDA2 still: FESA2 (inter FEC calls), WinCCOA (PVSS), PM, Labview CTF, some Expert & orphan applications W. Sliwinski - CO3 - 25th June 2015

CMW mid-LS2 RDA3 server RDA2 server RDA3 client RDA2 client RDA2->RDA3 Proxy CMW Directory Service CCDB RDA3 RDA2 RDA3 RDA2 CMW-DIR RDA2->RDA2 Proxy RDA2 4W. Sliwinski - CO3 - 25th June 2015  Stop support for RDA2  No connectivity to RDA2 servers  Stop ALL Proxies

CMW infrastructure after LS2 RDA3 server RDA3 client CMW Directory Service CCDB RDA3 CMW-DIR Much simpler without RDA2 ! 5W. Sliwinski - CO3 - 25th June 2015

End of Life for CMW products RDA2 client & server Beginning of LS2: stop of support, no bugfixes, no new releases Mid-LS2: No connectivity to RDA2 servers Not possible any more to perform Get, Set, Subscribe calls Even from old RDA2 client applications CMW Proxy Mid-LS2: Stop (decomissioning) of ALL Proxies Why ? RDA2 is not optimal for accelerators operation Known scalability, stability & performance issues Too expensive to maintain both (RDA2 & RDA3) at top quality Current infrastructure with Proxies is too complex (operation, diagnostics,...) RDA2 is based on obsolete technology (CORBA) -> we need to move 6W. Sliwinski - CO3 - 25th June 2015
