Facilities Master Plan Overview

Division I – Educational Program Reviews the instructional and educational support programs that the district offers in its facilities and the relationship of these programs to facilities. Establishes the foundation for maintaining, modernizing, and adding new facilities.

Division II – Existing Facilities Lists the facts about each existing school and support facility. Provides a capacity analysis of each facility. Assists in providing a basis for evaluating facilities on a comparative basis. Provides basis for school site maps for students, staff, and parents.

Division III - Demographics Contains an analysis of existing housing and population data for the district. Provides a basis for forecasting changes that change the number of students served, residential locations, school attendance boundaries, and the need for new school facilities.

Division IV – Implementation Plan Identifies the existing facilities issues that need attention, including deferred maintenance, major maintenance, and modernization. Identifies where new classrooms and support facilities will be needed and facilities that may be surplus. Identifies equity issues among facilities and the areas they serve.

Division IV – Implementation Plan Establishes a plan to remedy issues and resolve inequities. Estimates costs and identifies and allocates available funds. Also estimates where additional funds may be available. Establishes timelines for projects and expenditures. Provides a framework for facilities improvement oversight and evaluation.
