Character Traits Miss Consolo Grade 3

What is a character trait What is a character trait? How do you determine which character trait should be assigned to a character? A character trait is a word that describes the type of person a character is on the inside. Look at what a character says and does to determine if which character trait belongs to him/her.

What kind of person is Amy. What kind of person is her little brother What kind of person is Amy? What kind of person is her little brother? How do you know? Amy’s little brother is always doing things he shouldn’t. Last week he snuck into her room and read through her diary. Yesterday he colored his bedroom wall with marker. Amy tells him he should follow the rules like she always does. She gives him a list of chores he should do around the house instead of disobeying mom and dad.

Amy is bossy, respectful of her parents’ rules, serious Amy’s brother is mischievous

What kind of person is Drew? Drew takes great risks. One of his favorite pastimes is rock climbing. He shimmies up gigantic cliffs that most people wouldn’t dare to climb.

Drew is adventurous, daring, brave

What kind of person is Michael? Michael has a hard time understanding his math problems. Each night he completes all of his homework and his parents check his work. He fixes any mistakes that they find. After his homework is done, he practices his math facts and plays math computer games. It’s important to him that his grades improve. Michael even taught his cat Buff to hold his pencil while he thinks a problem through.

Michael is studious, determined, persistent
