Saturn A PowerPoint Presentation by Daniel Knox

Saturn: The beginning Saturn was first spotted by the ancient Greeks and was referred to as Cronus A Greek God. Saturn is 9 times bigger than the Earth! Galileo was the first person to see the rings of Saturn though his telescope. The first site of the wonderful secret of Saturn

The Rings of Saturn Saturn's rings are mainly made of ice and rocks of different sizes. Each orbiting the planet like a miniature moon. The impressive rings are very insubstantial, possibly only one kilometer thick. Because Saturn is tilted on it’s axis we occasionally pass through the plane of it’s rings making them vanish from view.

The Moons of Saturn Saturn has many moons but the main ones are Dione, Titan, Tethys and Enceladus. All are made of rock and ice but none are the size of the our moon.

Saturn: A ball of gas Saturn is mainly made of Methane and Hydrogen gas. Underneath the ball of gas is the core which is the same size of the core of the earth. Because Saturn is a ball of gas, if you find a ocean big enough it will float in it.

Saturn’s orbit Saturn’s orbit around the sun takes 28.5 Earth years. Twice in it’s orbit the rings disappear from our view.
