Warm Up – September 29, 2015 Pick up the 3 pages at the front of the room. You will also need 1-2 sheets of your own paper. One of the weaknesses of the early Muslim empires was: a) Intolerance of the legal traditions of non-Muslim peoples b) Disregard for the cultural traditions of conquered peoples c) Failure to resolve questions of succession d) Insistence on conversion of non-Arabs within the empire e) Indifference to the Sunni/Shi’ite split
