230/01/2016FORD CONFIDENTIAL – Presentation Title Comparison road loads out of coast down method versus torque method Step 1:Vehicle A tested at LPG for coast down method and torque method using exact the same tires, tire pressure and ride heights. Coast down method: See attachment 1 for coast down result Torque method: See attachment 2 for torque method result Test results for both methods used for further steps are selected based on testing in similar weather circumstances. Step 2:Windtunnel test to evaluate Cd*A difference between vehicle with and without torque transducers. Cd*A with torque transducers: Cd*A without torque transducers: Step 3:Recalculate torque method road loads to the same conditions as coast down method test. Recalculation for weight and Cd*A differences Results: see attachment 3a and 3b Step 4:Dyno setting to similar road load curve as recalculated road load curve out of step 3. Results: see attachment 4 Step 5:Coast down on dyno. Results: see attachment 5 For further calculation run MEC with coast down time is selected. Step 6:Calculate forces out of coast down method and torque method Results: see attachment 6 Conclusion:The differences between the forces derived out of the coast down method and torque method are less than 4%. Remark: Tests at LPG, aero testing and dyno setting result are witnessed by TUV.
