Business Travel Network For Bournemouth, Poole.....and now Dorset!

Helps local employers of any size offer their employees access to better sustainable travel options In return they get FREE practical advice & resources, and access to sustainable travel incentives and discounts to help support sustainable travel to and from the workplace The Business Travel Network Members commit to implement a travel action plan with our support Set up and supported by Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset Local Authorities

Originally set up for the Three Towns Corridor the Network has now expanded to cover 9 key areas

What’s in it for the employer? By helping businesses develop a sustainable travel plan the Business Travel Network also helps them achieve positive change, including; Reducing the cost of staff travel to work; Improving staff health and well-being through active travel; Reducing the environmental impact of a business; Reducing business travel costs; and Enhancing a business’s reputation as a good employer. Supports other accreditations such as ISO14001, Eco Campus, Carbon Trust Standard

Assistance with carrying out site audits and staff travel surveys Help with identifying suitable initiatives for their action plan Access to exclusive sustainable travel incentives and discounts Participation in the travel plan Accreditation and Awards scheme Invitations to best practice networking events and workshops Help to identify and apply for any relevant funding opportunities Membership Benefits:

The Four Steps to BTN Commitment When an employer joins the BTN it agrees to: Step 1 - Understand the issues (staff travel survey and site audit) Step 3 - Implement the measures Step 2 - Formulate A TRAVEL ACTION PLAN Step 4 - Monitor progress

The Business Travel Network recognises the achievements of all Members through our annual awards event Recognition Bronze Silver Gold Accreditation scheme Joined the Network & expressed an interest in sustainable travel support Completed a Travel Action Plan, conducted a site audit and staff travel survey Promoted sustainable travel to staff & introduced incentives to travel sustainably All Silver and Bronze activities, plus… recorded a reduction in single occupancy car use over a minimum 12 month period

Summary From it’s inception the Network has secured a commitment from 30 Members to implement an Accredited Travel Action Plan As part of the drive for new Members we are continuing to build on our attractive package of Membership benefits Joining the Business Travel Network has benefits for the business, the employee, the local community and the environment Work will continue to grow Network Membership over the coming months, especially in the new focus areas.
