Playing Time Playing time in the competitive program is earned not guaranteed. If a player attends practices and demonstrates a high work rate then that player is entitled to play. If a player cant make practice it is their responsibility to let the coach know. CC United coaches do not look to develop a strong line up to win games. They will strive to develop the team and the committed players within to be as competitive as possible We will strive to win not to win at all costs

Number of Teams/Players Teams 391 players Teams 450 players Teams 550 players  Teams 632 players  Teams 716 players  Teams 760 players  Teams 830 players

Recognition  Board of Directors  Coaches

Club Needs  Coaches at some age groups  Team managers  If you can play come and join in  Referees  Youth coaches

Last year changed some aspects of team formation How did we do?

Team Placement and player Selection  The Goal of team Placement is to use MYSA’s league structure and create an appropriate amount of opportunities for players to play at levels that are relevant to their age groups abilities What is it??  The Goal of player selection is to place players at a level that is appropriate to their Current ability that they will be both challenged and able to achieve success

The way we used to build teams AbiLIty Level AbiLIty Level

AbiLIty Level AbiLIty Level The top team is doing fine. But… We have not created a competitive 2 nd or 3 rd team. There is little chance going forward for players on 2 nd -4 th teams of ever reaching the top team. The 2 nd -4 th teams are not as competitive as we would like. Here is what we want to see The top team is still doing fine. But… We now have a very competitive C2 team. Many team 2 players will challenge for top team spots. The 3 rd team is now potentially a competitive C2 team There is an achievable path through small steps from the 4 th team all the way to the top team.

So how do we get there? By U12 the teams are positioned in the way we want to reach our U13 goal. U12 is the first year offering C1. We want to work U9-U11 to have a top team already in C1 or good enough to earn Classic 1 at U13 We also want to provide opportunities and good coaching at the C2/3 level at this age group as well.

So how do we get there? U11 offers the C2 and C3 levels. The goal at this age is to give more players the opportunity to play/practice at a level that is relevant to their current ability This will develop higher competition for the fielding of a C1 or C1 challenging team at U12. Through increased age group competition the second U12 team should be a strong or at least a competitive C2 team. From the lower teams, we will develop sufficient players for a strong C3 or competitive C2 team.

So how do we get there? U9 and U10 teams mirror our U11 goal. Two top teams and two lower teams at U11 sets up for teams at all three levels (C1/C2/C3) at U12 U9 and U10 team formation will start us down this road.

What are the problems we encounter with the new direction? We were not as dominant at the U9-U11 age groups At U11 We lost 3 players who were not interested in creating a strong age group as they couldn’t see past their own child’s winning record At U11 Our classic 3 teams struggled as more stronger players were pulled up to the top level We were overly strong at the U12 age group at two levels We had more teams playing classic 3 than we needed at U12 At U12 we lost 2 players who were searching for that quick classic 1 placement

What worked ? We developed a solid group of 20 players at U9-U11 At U13 we have a stepping stone and it is attainable with more opportunities for all players We did all of this with 99.5% non recruited players Although rostered at a level that was too low for the team the coaches entered the team into tournaments at a higher level The top team at each age level was put under pressure not just to contain the best players but to be the better team and outplay rather than out run, out muscle or even outscore the opponents This next year we are restructuring the master coach program and adding a Technical Coach to spend more time with players on the basic things As we have improved the top, stabilized the middle our job over the next year is to push the lower half harder

GOAL: Opportunities at all levels at U13 C1C2C r 2011 C1C2C U13 Boys were relegated after a difficult fall season

Players develop by 1. Practice environment 2. Game environment 3. Players Drive/interest attainable goals 4. Parent support Our new system has added more to #3

Players who miss tryouts and don’t gain an exemption will not be considered for placement on a top team the following season I am not playing God but an exemption means you have an intention to play for the club

Questions on player placement How to contact me 24 hour rule Please be considerate of the traveling program objectives of both playing levels and size of program

Thank you Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes. - Charles Swindoll  The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty Sir Winston Churchill
