Overview The invasion of Normandy took place on June 6, ,000 planes prepared their way to the beaches of Normandy. America, Britain, Canada and Poland arrive on boats and are getting fired at non-stop. Life now relies on bravery and leadership.

Significance of the war  For the first time land taken by the Nazis was taken back. The allied powers won the fight and the Germans lost it, which meant Hitler couldn’t take on all competition.

Who? The U.S., Canada, Britain as well as the navies-in-exile of France, Norway, the Netherlands, Greece and Poland supplied 1,213 war ships for the invasion.

What? D-Day was an invasion, the biggest one recorded in history. The allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy and started to break through Germanys army defense, the reach Adolf Hitler. os/events/wwii- eur/normandy/normandy.htm

Where? D-Day happened on the four beaches of Normandy, on the coast of german- occupied france.
