A COMPUTER FOR HELEN Ashley Osa-Peters Mr. Rich BBT 9 Wednesday, 13 th February, Due: Wednesday, 20 th February, 2013.

Helen’s situation Helen Parr runs a bakery from her home. She does this while raising 3 children. She needs a new computer so she can keep up with her documents and advertising. She needs a fast computer that gives her easy access to the internet. A computer that is sufficient for her children to do their homework, but also affordable.

Recommended Computer For Helen, I recommend the HP ENVY M6. I found this laptop at future shop at macbooks/1002.aspx?path=847316bb9e1ba03338d63d9ec en01 This computer will be great for searching the internet and for uploading her pictures onto her website. It will also be very useful for her children when they do their homework. It has lots of space to save her pictures with room for her children to save their documents as well.

Chip/Processor The chip is the part of the computer that does the thinking. The HP ENVY M6 has a chip speed of 2.3GHz which means this computer can do math questions per second! This is important because it enables your computer to save your documents faster and process your information rapidly! The chip is measured in Hz (Hertz).

RAM RAM stands for Random Access Memory. This is the short term memory of the computer and it stores your information quickly. RAM is measured in Bytes. RAM is important because it directly affects the computer’s speed. The HP ENVY M6 has a RAM of 8GB This allows Helen to update her website quickly and also allows her children to use Facebook with ease.

Data Storage Data Storage is the part of the computer that saves all your files and documents. It’s important how much Data Storage you have because you want enough space to save all your files. Data Storage is measured in Bytes. The HP ENVY M6 has 1TB of Data Storage. This is absolutely fantastic for Helen because she can save up to Bytes of information!

DVD / Bluray DVD/ Bluray is the burner of the computer. This is what enables you to view DVD disks on your computer or save information to DVD disks. It is important because it allows you to burn information unto disks on your computer. The HP ENVY M6 has a Super-Multi DVD +/- RW burner. This will let Helen’s children watch movies on the computer and also burn information unto disks!

Network Network is what enables you to connect to the internet and Wi-Fi. It provides connection so you can browse the web. Network is measured in b, g or n and this computer has the n. I know the HP ENVY M6 has a network jack and I assume it has an b/g/n Wi-Fi network.

Other Things This laptop is black. Bilingual keyboard Webcam (So Helen can Skype with Bob when he’s on his missions) Windows 8 AMD A M Weighs 2.4kg 1 year warranty

Price This laptop is $ I consider this to be a good price for all the features it comes with. This is also a fairly new edition computer so I think it’s worth it. It also comes with a special offer of $70 off a printer! Helen’s children can print out their homework with this! Helen also gets a Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium for $79.99! That’s an amazing deal and her children can use Microsoft to do their homework for a cheaper price!
